About Me
Hi! Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. I know time is of the essence so I will try to keep my story short.
My name is Aisha, I’m a proud Iranian-American creative with a background in consumer behavior, retail buying and digital marketing.
Rewind a decade, I started my career at a Fortune 50 company (Target) in their buying offices. In merchandising and buying, I worked across multiple business categories, including electronics, with national vendors like Epson, Samsung, LG, Vizio, Canon, and more, and apparel and accessories, working with long lead-time, overseas vendors.
While in merchandising and buying, I managed a $400MM business category for Target. I developed extensive knowledge in budget forecasting and management, consumer insights, trend analysis, pricing and promotions strategy, inventory management, sourcing and logistics, market share analysis, and competitive research. I realized buying had a lot of synergy with marketing when I started my small apparel boutique on the side and had to do all the marketing myself. I honed my skills in consumer insights and competitive analysis to set a baseline for how I would market to my target audience. Through my self-taught marketing journey, my apparel boutique gained traction nationally. Through those efforts, I was head-hunted by brightpeak, a subsidiary of Thrivent, a Fortune 500 company, to run its social media marketing. That’s when my “professional” marketing journey began.
Through genuine curiosity, I started in social media and asked if I could attend the paid media and SEO meetings with our agency and internally. I learned a lot, and eventually, when our Sr. Marketing Manager left, I took over the marketing manager chair, where I managed social media, all paid media, SEO, and media buying. I moved to my latest company as a Senior Marketing Manager, where, at the time, they were a pre-revenue start-up that hadn’t fully launched. I built their marketing plans, affiliate marketing strategies, public relations strategies, and more. I also played a significant part in developing the brand, including the aesthetic, positioning, voice, value prop, and target audience segments. Through my tenure at FOXO, I have expanded my knowledge across all digital marketing functions and now serve as the VP of Marketing, overseeing seven creatives. Developing marketing strategies, leading the team through a SPAC deal and IPO, growing our lead base, and driving sales has been a highlight of my career. However, there has been no greater accomplishment than creating such a positive synergy with my team that we truly enjoy working together daily.
As a self-starter and one with an entrepreneurial spirit, I also take consulting clients to expand and refine my skills. I love a creative challenge and am passionate about helping small businesses scale through thoughtful brand and marketing strategies. Nothing excites me more than solving creative problems and seeing the fruits of your labor through connecting with people and reaching goals.
I would love to hear more about your needs and see how I could help you with your marketing efforts.
Cheers,
Aisha
